In how many ways can X distribute 20 chocolates among A, B, C and D

(I) If each receives at least one
(II) If X may chose to give no chocolates to whom he dislikes on that particular day.

2) 23!/(20!*3!) = 1771

Similar to one i posted earlier. Assume 20 chocolates are placed in a row and u have 3 separators. Choose from the 19 positions between the chocolates for the 3 separators which is essentially 19c3

1. (19)! /((19 - 3)!*3!)

Place 20 chocolates and 3 separators in a row and find the number of permutations among them i.e 23!. Notice that the 3 separators can be interchanged coz they are identical and the chocolates can also be interchanged coz they are identical so the denominator is 3!*19!

i.e If this implies that he can dislike more than one person on a given day

(23)!/(3! 20!)
