Hello make sure your basics is very clear before you take up any personal tutor or whatever.Otherwise you will waste your bucks.
ABadTestTaker
Hello,

I am currently looking for a tutor, ideally in NYC but meeting online is fine to. I am unable to pay $200-$400/ hour like most places ask for, I do apologize but I just do not have that kind of money. I am willing to do $40-$100/hour for private tutoring.

Please reach out to me if you can tutor me.

Thanks.

Hi ABadTestTaker,

Approximately 10 months ago, you posted that you had been scoring around 400 on your practice CATs, but you did not provide any additional information about how you were studying. While a tutor might be able to help you to improve, it's not clear whether you actually need that type of service. Before I can offer you any advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) Have you been studying consistently since last December? How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Studies:
1) No I had to stop studying due to personal reasons that happened that year, I have been studying now for a little over a month but realized I am either making mistakes with my approach to these questions for both Verbal and Quant. I study on weekdays 1-2 hours and on weekends for 2-3 hours. I work full time so I probably need to add more hours of studying on the weekends.
2) I am currently using gmatprepnow and answering official guide questions that are posted on GMAT Club.
3) I took a practice exam on September 1st with a Quant score of 32 and Verbal score of 17, overall score is 420.

Goals:
4) My overall goal score is a 650-700
5) Ideally I would like to take it in December or January, depends on how I improve.
6) Assuming the exam goes well in December or January I plan on applying for the Fall 2020 semester.
7) So far the two schools I am interested in are NYU Langone part time MBA and Baruch evening MBA. NYU has a deadline of Feb,2020 and the deadline for Baruch is March,2020

Hi ABadTestTaker,

You've given yourself plenty of time to study and take the GMAT before your application deadlines - which is good. Since your last practice CAT was about 6 weeks ago, we have no idea how effective your recent studies have been or whether there are any particular areas that you need to spend more time on. As such, I suggest that you take a NEW CAT sometime soon (perhaps this week) and take it in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Once you have that score, you should report back here and we can discuss the results.
