In order for any work of art — for example, a film, a novel, a poem, or a song — to have merit, it must be understandable to most people.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.
Art, which is known to elucidate matters even without expressions of words, is a way to illustrate the subject matter such that the message of it touches every intended individual. Work of art has different ways of expression according to the type of art itself. I strongly agree with the statement mentioning that art must be understandable for most people such that its effects can be maximized for three main reasons.
To spread awareness to the root level people, one must understand the level of education and level of understanding the people of that community holds. For stance, if you make a movie about children giving the sense and message intended specially to children about respecting elders, and loving the young ones using complex language then the focused idea of awarding the young children will be futile. In order to make them imbued with the information and message, the movie must be in simple understandable language by pupils—the intended message thus will be absorbed. For this reason, in any form of art, either movie or documentary the theme and the content should be easily absorbable and amiable to everyone’s acceptance.
In addition to the understanding theme of art by a few people will not always help to get the merit at the big picture: the solutions, the awareness, or the information should be spread much as possible to get the advantage on a large scale. For instance, if a health campaign begins in the village and people were distributed pamphlets printed in ambiguous language will confuse people more rather than solve their curiosity. However, if the pamphlets, and leaflets were in their local language the message will be disseminated on massive levels: most of them get benefited.
Furthermore, the impact will be efficacious if the subject matter became transparent to the concerned populace. Let’s take an example, in an election if the song for the advertisement about the political parties along with agendas will attract more people than the bombastic speech of leaders with pompous use of political language -- which is hardly understandable. The touting songs, if it was, in the local language will attract more people for sure than any other means: it will be easy for people to understand the plans and framework easily.
Some might argue that sometimes expressing art does not have language and the art can only be felt in the emotive sense. Take an example of classic songs. Although we do not understand all the chords and language they use, we still prefer to listen to them: they are mellifluous and euphonious. Some art does not clearly understandable, however, is very interesting and peculiar and influences a large number of people.
In conclusion, though art should be accessible to every people with any level of understanding to impact on an enormous scale, sometimes art incomprehensible is also have some impact—with less intensity. To be ubiquitous with the people at the root level, the art, of any form, must be understandable to people to be benefitted.
