e) obesity in children has escalated exponentially and is recognized daily as a real health threat

IMO B...Option A is incorrect because of "are"...In option E word "daily" is inappropriate...In option D "today" should be after verb(recognized)..And in option C error in tense.

So by POE B seems correct.

My suggestion. Do NOT study this question. You couldn't find the OA on the web. Do not study questions from unknown sources. It is not worthwhile and may affect your knowledge.

According to Ron Purewal - a legend GMAT instructor, this question is very poor written.

I went with B too. But is "child obesity" the same as "obesity in children" ?
