Let Ellan's age be x. So David's age will be (7 x). As the problem say twenty years back David was twice Ellan. We can write (X 7)-20 /X-20=2/1. Solving this linear equation we get X=27 i.e. Ellan's age will be 27 7=34. Now 10 years hence David's age will be 44 and he will be 4 times of Aaron so his age will be 11 years and his present age is 1 years. I hope it will help you to understand the problem.

David's age would be (X+7) not 7x. That was a typing error.
