Does anyone have a set of problems that ask you to solve 'in terms of' a variable? I seem not be able to answer these the majority of the time. Does anyone else have problems with these? Can anyone good at them give any tips?

Thanks.

I3igDmsu, this is one of the most normal obstacles that those who are not use to work with letters instead of numbers encounter.

What I suggest you is to practice the "word problems" with letters instead of with peaking numbers.

Of course, when doing the test, we usually pick numbers because it is easier to work with them. But just to practice, try to do the same word problems that you did with peaking numbers, with only letters.

Good luck.
