2x +60= 3x +25( exterior opposite angles between parallel lines )
x =35
y= 2X+60(Vertically opposite angles/)
2x+60 = 2*35+60= 130

In the figure shown, parallel lines m and n are cut by a transversal t. What is the value of y?

(A) 100
(B) 115
(C) 120
(D) 125
(E) 130

Since 2x + 60 = y (by vertical angles) and y = 3x + 25 (by corresponding angles), we can create the equation:

2x + 60 = 3x + 25

35 = x

Thus, y = 2x + 60 = 70 + 60 = 130 (or alternatively, y = 3x + 25 = 105 + 25 = 130).
