In the figure shown, what is the area of the circular region with center O and diameter BC?

(1) BC/AB = 3/4
(2) BD = 25

1. Absolute values are not given, can't find the area.

2. Applying Pythagoras, BC= can be 4 or 5 not sure.

1+2
We get the diameter of the circle (absolute value. Find area). C

What is the basis of the assumption that BC is diameter of the circle and not merely a chord. Is the marking of "O" adequate? Can this be taken as standard for other pictorial representations as well?

Check the stem: In the figure shown, what is the area of the circular region with center O and diameter BC?

Thanks - there is an iteration of the question going around in certain practise in which the question stem ends at "circular region".
