This answer choice correctly uses a conjunction (when) to connect the main clause (the world is created) with the sentence's secondary clause (the body of the slain sea-monster Tiamat is divided into two).
B. from the body of the slain sea-monster Tiamat being divided
Incorrect.
While this answer choice is grammatically correct, it is stylistically flawed. The phrase being divided is awkward; using the conjugated form is divided is stylistically superior.
The word being is often wrong in the GMAT. However, for the most part, you must treat it as a stylistic error.
When encountering being in the underlined portion of a sentence correction question make sure that:
- the meaning of any alternatives to being is not incorrect; the meaning conveyed in the use of being is correct, logical, and does not alter the intended meaning (or that another choice does not alter its meaning if being is used correctly)
- being used as a noun or in a passive sense, especially with a continuous passive situation can be perfectly correct.
- Even if the above two conditions are met, no other choices are better in terms of directness/concision, clarity, and meaning.

Incorrect.
This answer choice is grammatically incorrect. The conjunction when indicates two things happening at the same time. This answer changes the Present Simple verb is divided into the Past Simple verb was divided, but this causes it to disagree with an earlier Present Simple verb, is created:
- Correct: ... the world is created when ... Tiamat is divided ...
Incorrect: ... the world is created when ... Tiamat was divided ...
D. from the slain sea-monster Tiamat's body dividing
Incorrect.
While this answer choice is grammatically correct. The construction created from ... dividing is non-idiomatic because dividing is an action and not a thing. The correct idiom is created by [action] or created from [a thing].

Incorrect.
This answer choice is grammatically incorrect; it uses the preposition from to connect two clauses, instead of using a conjunction.
Look for an answer choice that correctly uses a conjunction to connect the main clause (the world is created) with the sentence's secondary clause (the body of the slain sea-monster Tiamat is divided into two).
