In the xy-plane, triangular region R is bounded by the lines x = 0, y = 0, and 4x + 3y = 60. Which of the following points lie inside region R ?
I. (5, 12)

We need points in the first quadrant that lie below the third line. All of the options have positive values for both x and y, so all we are testing is whether each point lies above or below the other line.
I. When x = 5, we have 20+3y=60, so 3y=40, so y = 13.33. y=12 is less than that, so falls below the line and is within region R. We need I. B and C are out.
II. When x = 10, we have 40+3y=60, so 3y=20, so y=6.67. y=7 is more than that, so falls above the line is outside region R. We can't have II. E is out.
III. When x = 12, we have 48+3y=60, so 3y=12, so y = 4. y=3 is less than that, so falls below the line and is within region R. We need III. A is out.
