Thats weird. It was on my gmat prep (just looked it up to be sure) and the x was there. Maybe a misprint? seems unlikely! I dont know!

Yes A is the answer if X is provided in the figure. If not, then its E.

Could we reason that since BDA = 180-2x, ABD and BAD both = x since ABD/BDA/DAB must sum to 180? 180 - (180-2x) = 2x. ABD = 1x and BAD = 1x.
