In Valgin, gasoline is sold in different grades, the most expensive being premium gasoline. Only about 10 percent of gasoline-powered vehicles sold in Valgin require premium gasoline, and for other vehicle premium provides no advantage. Nevertheless, nearly 15% of gasoline sold there is premium. So presumably a number of Valgian drivers are wasting money when they buy gasoline.
Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument?
A Buyers of vehicles that require premium gasoline do not drive substantially more miles per year than other drivers. B More of the intermediates grade of gasoline is sold than of premium gasoline. C Most of the vehicles that require premium gasoline are high-performance vehicles and are relatively expensive. D Premium gasoline costs almost 25 percent more than least expensive grade of gasoline. E Some very old vehicles that did not require premium gasoline when they were new now do require it to run smoothly.
