On the contrary, my official report card shows an incorrect GPA of 4.0 :P , and the effect is that my mail-box is full with mails from all the top-ranked schools.

thanks mohater

shd i try re-sending my scores to the 5 instis i had chosen while taking the exam??.. i intend to apply to those

No, because your score has already been submitted. The system should *not* allow you to re-send to the same school for the same score, but if it does, you'll just be donating $28 to the GMAC for doing nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

What is the importance of the GPA on the score report? Do schools use this as their main source of your GPA and your official transcript as just confirmation?

You can change your GPA online if you are really worried about it. The only thing it may (or may not) affect is what bigoyal was talking about - it may affect the amount of stuff you get from schools inviting you to apply.

The school will get your GPA from the application and they require your transcript anyway. They will not go back to look at an unofficial GPA from your GMAT report.

Since this information is optional information (self-reported by applicant) I doubt if the b-schools take this seriously, accept for sending information emails to appropriate candidates.

Hi,

I have also done the same mistake. My query is, if I provide the correct GPA when I will appear for the GMAT for the second time, then in the latset official report the correct GPA would be reflected (along with the previous score and current score), right? Please confirm.

Regards,
Joy

Yes, you will have a chance to report the GPA again and it will be corrected on the official report.
