I was wondering if there had been a shift in applications to earlier rounds. A lot of data from the top schools shows that applications are up pretty substantially, but of course, these only reflect the rounds where applications have already been received. I'm wondering if more applicants targeted the earlier rounds because it's believed that the timing is more favorable.
I remember reading that not that long ago (maybe 5 years), most applications came in for R3, but in recent years there has been a shift so that R2 is now sees the greatest bulk of applications. Since GMAT volume has not been particularly high this year, could it just mean that more applicants have already turned in their applications (and more of them) earlier this year? Does that mean there will be fewer applications in the later rounds? I guess we'll see.
