Increasing score from 450-620, possible?

I wrote the GMAT with no experience studying whatsoever and got a 450, that was a few months ago and I plan to write my next practice exam in a few days. Is it possible to increase a 450-620? I am nervous to see the score on the upcoming practice exam. My test is booked in 25 days. Please advise.

Well, I made the jump from 490 (in official mock) to 600(in actual GMAT. though it did tank from 650 in the most recent mock from Veritas prep).
If you are saying that your actual GMAT is in 25 days, then I would suggest that just focus on OG and nothing else. Don't get bogged down by your Practice test score. It is quite disheartening to see a low score before the exam. Try to infer GMAT questions and look for what they are testing. (perhaps the most important thing in GMAT is to read question properly)

If you are on a low score of 450, it means just like younger me you lack the basics of both QA and VA sections. The GMAT is quite structured exams, one needs to cross levels as follows:
1. Build foundations in QA and VA
2. Build solid reasoning and inference skills upon the foundation knowledge, this comes from practice.
3. Get test ready - 1. build stamina to sit for 3hrs exam; 2. Time managment- In GMAT time flies if you get stuck, and 3. be ready for surprises.

The one who masters it gets better in test-taking otherwise the test gets better of him/her.

620 is not a hard score to reach. You should take a mock test now. I don't know whether you've learned the GMAT over the last few months or not. I think that if you've put your effort into GMAT since the mock test last few months, your current situation is not 450 at all. From 450 to 620 in 25 days is possible but hardcore. Good luck.

It is easier to make a 170 point jump from 450 to 620 then from 550 to 720 that's for sure. The higher your target score the tougher it gets, and its certainly doable despite even with your time constraint. Start by strengthening your foundation, learning about the topics tested on the test. Either an online course or books will do. Go through GMATClub, read debriefs of people who achieved big jumps and it will certainly help you.

If you have been working hard and studying smart for the last two months, you should see a higher score on your next practice exam. Once you take it, reach back out with your score breakdown, and then let's take things from there.

If you have not taken any CATs/mocks since your initial one, then we have no idea what your current 'ability level' is right now. To make sure that you receive the most accurate assessment on your next CAT, you have to make sure to take it in a realistic fashion that matches-up with what you will face when you take the Official GMAT (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, if you will be at a Test Facility, then wear a face mask, etc.). Once you have that Score, you should post back here (or you can feel free to PM me directly) and we can discuss the results and how you might best proceed with your studies.

Going forward, it's worth noting that a CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not. In addition, the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically shouldn't take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. As such, you really shouldn't take more than 1 FULL CAT per week.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on your 1st CAT?

Goals:
4) Is your overall goal score a 620 or something else?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
