Hey there!
Great to hear from you!
So you both have very interesting profiles and together (if your wife gets that GMAT) you should make a quite nice couple in B-school
Let me start by cutting tot he chase regarding your school list: it's too ambitious. Both of your profiles are excellent, but there are some weaknesses:
- Indian applicants
- Tech jobs that aren't very heavy in leadership
- non IIT UG programs
- Moderately good academics (for Husband)
All of these taken together would mean that it would be a very poor strategy on your par to focus only on Top 5 programs. You also need to consider that you have the added difficulty of applying as a couple, which means that both of you will need to get into the same schools to attend, and given that the schools on your list are "Dream schools" for you, I would suggest rethinking your strategy.
First and foremost: Open up your school list to top 15 schools. Top 5 are exceptionally difficult. But if your wife can hit that GMAT, top 15 would be reasonable.
Secondly: Strategize your application as a COUPLE. We've worked with many couples in the past, and it's not always easy to find the right strategy for you both. But essentially, the way to go with it is to find a way to show that TOGETHER you will be even stronger than if you got in individually. The idea being for you both to LIFT each other's profiles and not the opposite.
