Indian Members, Need your suggestions

Hi,



I have scored a 640(V34,Q45)


I have the worst profile you can ever imagine: 2 years exp in hospitality.

I have done some NGO work.

I am 27 years old.

Will not reattempt GMAT.



On the other hand, I have got an admission offer from IIM Tirchy full time MBA.


What should I do ? Try with 640 or go with IIMT?

Dont care about the ROI part, just wanted a good college out of India.

I am confused now.


P.S. I have a white board, 2 erasers and some erasable black marker pens. I don't need them anymore. Let me know if anyone needs them. Will send for free.

If you want to go abroad and you dont care about ROI then... I feel like you've already made up your mind about going abroad. So yeah onwards and forward.
However if you haven't and are open to India, Trichy might not be too bad, infact I think its one of the best in CAP colleges. Are you planning to re attempt CAT though?

Depends on which school you are applying for which 640 will be sufficient. There is a school for every score but that also compromises with quality and network you will make from a 640 level program.

Whereas IIMT I read has a very reputable program with state of the art campus what I got to know. It also gives a good network.

But with just 2 years of experience which below par for that specific demographic which generally is 4+ year of work experience, I would suggest you to work for a year and retake the GMAT and then apply because currently your GMAT and work experience, which are the most important component of the application, are weak. As you said " a good school" is a stretch at least for MBA currently.

You can try European schools for other programs.

But if you want to do in this year only, you should go with IIMT.

well IIM Trichy will give that IIM tag and if you plan to live in India maybe that IIM tag will help you better than your foreign degree and if you really want to settle abroad it would be better to find a good program in lets say Germany or other country similar where you don't need a crazy profile to get into. so it just boils down to where you want to live in your post MBA life.
Remember you can change the country once you gain significant experience if you want so it just for few years past MBA
