Hello!

I dont know what you mean by good tone.

Care to elaborate?

So just do not exceed!!! Right?
So 255 would be cosidered negatively or what?
In some essays it says 250, in some 400 approx! Does it also mean no more then 400 or 400 +-some words

What does care to elaborate mean?

I am just doing my final tuning of the essays and want to do my best!!!

Artuurs

+/- a cpl of words is not going to hurt you. Being egregious by going over the word limit by 10-15% likely will.

Approximately means just that -- approximately.

You asked about good tone - that is a meaningless question. I was asking you to elaborate on your question. i.e., care to elaborate.

Hello!
There was a question about the language in which the INSEAD interview is conducted, but it was not answered.
If I am in Russia, what will be the language of interview be?

Artuurs

i checked this when I visited their campus. All interviews are supposed to be run in English. I am based in Japan but Japanese is not my native language. I do speak Japanese but I really prefer interviewing in English so I double-checked on this. However, I would not be surprised if the interviewer would check my Japanese too during the interview.

Well there is always a differenece between 'supposed to be' and 'the reality'. I was also expecting to have the interviews in english but my first interview partner started with German (my mother tongue) for about 1 hour and then half an hour in english. My 2nd interview partner did the whole interview in German. So expect the unexpected...

Several applicants have extremely interesting stories to tell about their cultural experiences. In most cases, 250 words is just not enough. So, I suggest them to keep rest of the essays within limit and go upto 350 words or even more in culture shock essay.

Frankly, acceptance rate of these candidates is higher than the other candidates.

I would so not do that. There's a word limit for a reason. The adcom clearly ruled you should be able to make your point in 250 words. I seriously doubt your chances of admission will go up if you decide to ignore/disrespect the rules they made. Quite on the contrary I'd say.

I work for a firm where everyone gets into a top 15 MBA programme, so I've seen quite a few applications and talked to many current/former MBA students. I've never seen or heard about anyone doing that in their application.
