Could anyone please sanity check me here... for some reason I assumed the INSEAD application required a 1-page CV to be submitted along with it. I just dug through the application form and couldn't find any reference to it. Did I make this up? Maybe I'm confusing it with LBS, who look like they require a 1 page CV as part of the application.

No CV required for INSEAD app. Just make sure not to forget your 2 job essays though ;)

Hello!
There was a question about the language in which the INSEAD interview is conducted, but it was not answered.
If I am in Russia, what will be the language of interview be?

Another questions about the number of words in INSEAD app essay. How do you count your words!!! What is the goal?
If they say 250 words, what does it really mean... Do I need to write 250 exactly, or 260 or 270 is fine, or 240. What is considered a good tone?

Just had my first interview on Friday.

Summary - this was very conversational, far less structured than my Wharton interview and was much longer. We spent close to 2 hours at a coffee shop just talking.

Questions he asked:

1. Walk me through your resume and explain the decisions that you made and why?
2. Why MBA? Why now? Why INSEAD?
3. You are young and inexperienced compared to other INSEAD applicants? Why should we admit you?
4. What are your short term & long term goals?
5. What are your strengths?
6. What other schools have you applied to? Where do you stand with them?
7. If you get into Wharton and INSEAD where would you go and why?

He then stopped and gave me some feedback about what he intended on doing and how his feedback is typically used.

Then we spend about 75 minutes talking about:
- his life
- life at INSEAD as a married couple
- taking your spouse or not taking your spouse
- India

All in all it was really awesome and I though the interview went almost perfectly for my perspective. I was very honest about how torn I would be between Wharton and INSEAD and he sensed that I was being sincere since I really dont know.

Some of the questions were tougher than my Wharton interview and he pressed for more rationale. But I think I did alright.

The interview is in the local language, however some of it must be in English.
How much is in English, well that's up to the interviewer and yourself.
Regarding the word limit, there is no explicit answer.
However, from what I was told, where it states approx. you can go over the limit.
Where it states 250 words (in the job essays), you should not go over the limit.
I tried to keep as much as possible inside the limit, and in way go over 10%.
In general, I saw that by meeting the word limit, my essays also got better!

Submitted my app last night, In for R2 Sept 2010.

So now the waiting begins.

Will anyone contact me on the completien of my file or how it is going to be know.

I also have a question. I did an IELTS test for English proof and sent them just a copy of the certificate as there are no ways to send them an original one. But the certificate has a code on it which can be verified on the web. Is this the way to verify IELTS test.

Hi All.... I will be applying for the Jan 2011 intake so am about to start on my app. I was wondering how the letter of recommendations work with INSEAD? There doesn't seem to be a standard set of questions anywhere for this but there is a link that gets generated from the form.

Does this link contain questions or is it a free form letter?

just give that link to your references and let them take it from there. i have no idea if it's questions or a free form letter but it shouldn't matter to you...let your references take care of it.

Applied for R2. Got an email 2 days ago that my application is complete and it will be evaluated for R2. Nothing newer than that.

The thread will probably come back to life when the R1s will start receiving final feedback and when the R2s will start receiving invites or the unfortunate dings.
