\(\frac{R}{B}\) = \(\frac{3}{8}\)----\(\frac{B}{G}\) = \(\frac{5}{8}\)

R : B : G = 3*5 : 8*5 : 8*8 = 15 : 40 : 64

let R = 15x
then B = 40x and G = 64x

R+B+G = 238
15x+40x+64x = 238
119x = 238
x = 2

GREEN = 64x = 64*2 = 128

D is the answer

Inside an urn, the ratio of red to blue marbles is 3:8, and the ratio of blue to green marbles is 5:8. If the sum of red, green, and blue marbles is 238, how many of the marbles are green?

A. 30
B. 64
C. 80
D. 128
E. 208

Since the ratio of red : blue = 3 : 8 and since blue : green = 5 : 8, we need to equate the blue marbles, so we have:

red : blue = 15 : 40 and blue : green = 40: 64, so we have the combined ratio of red : blue : green = 15x : 40x : 64x, and we can create the following equation:

15x + 40x + 64x = 238

119x = 238

x = 2

Thus, there are 64(2) = 128 green marbles.
