MBA programs love veterans or anyone coming from a non-traditional business background. They are all looking for diversity in the classroom. There isn't really a specific strategy for you - you just need to answer the essay questions as everyone else and fit the general criteria (eg career progression/strong accomplishments, strong academics, extra curriculars, etc.). You need to answer Why an MBA, why this school and what do you want to do post MBA. You would also need to have some extra curriculars/hobbies/community work on the side as all schools are looking for well rounded candidates. And of course a strong GMAT.
