Hi,
I just googled out this site and would like to introduce myself. I was an engineer at a telecommunication company. I quit the job about a year ago after my daughter was born. I had this idea of going to business school this august, and started to prepare for the GMAT at the end of August. I took the test this monday (Nov. 7th), and did not get a good score (600). My expectation was somewhat high cause I scored 690 and 710 on the two PP. So you can imagin how upset I was when I saw the score. I have no idea what happened, especially I thought I was strong on Math (only got two questions wrong on each of the PP tests), however I only scored 47 on the actual test.
My analysis of my first attempt is that:
1) overestimated my level, and underestmiate the test, didn't take it seriously when I was preparing for it.
2) my time management was not good, especially at the verbal part.
2) paniced a couple of times when I was doing RC.
3) lack of sleep during the past year (because of the baby) is really killing my brain.
Considering the application deadlines for the schools I'd like to apply are Jan. 15th, I really don't have much time left. I plan to take the exam again sometime in Dec. My confident level is really low right now. I need a solid, efficient plan to help me carry on. I am happy to find this site. After reading several posts, I have already leaned a lot. I was wondering if you could help me come up with a 1-month study plan. I have the following study materials: PR 2005, and OG 11E. Could you recomand one or two more materials?
ps. English is my second language. So verbal is my weak part.
Many thanks,
Julia
