Hey Guys

I currently work in Investment banking in Africa. I'm also a CA and CFA. Do I also need a score over 700+ to be recruited by an Investment Bank post MBA? I know for management consulting firms (BCG, Bain, McKinsey..etc) the 700+ score is a must. Let's say if I go to a Georgetown or a UNC, would the IB's recruiting there want a 700+? Or will my work experience suffice?

Any help in this matter is much appreciated. :) :)

Well IB also looks at the GMAT. It's not a hard cutoff (700) but if you have it, it's better.

Given the upward the trend of GMAT scores and the fact that this is a data point that investment banks take into consideration when recruiting, it's safe to assume that you'll typically be competing with others that have a GMAT 700 or better. If you're in a position to retake it and think there is a realistic opportunity for improvement, I would buckle down and give it your all now so you have no regrets. Best of luck!
