Hi ,
Do we have a huge penalty even in IR section if we miss to mark couple of questions, or are they considered wrong?
Dear
kulkarnios,
I'm happy to help.
First of all, in the advanced algorithm of the CAT, used on Q & V sections, I believe omitted counts differently from answered incorrectly, and I believe how it counts is very complex, especially toward the ends of sections.
On the IR, I believe omitted is equivalent to wrong, no difference.
Further, and this is extremely important:
there is no partial credit on the IR section. On the IR section, you get 12 "questions", or more accurately, 12 screens, each one of which can have multiple individual questions. On each screen, you must get absolutely everything right to get any credit at all on the screen. For example, suppose on a Multi-Source Reasoning screen you get three dichotomous choice questions --- these could be "True"/"False", or "Supports the plan"/"Does not support the plan", etc. You need to get all three right to get any credit at all for that screen. If any of the three questions on that page is either blank or wrong, you get absolutely no credit at all for that screen ---- it would be equivalent to leaving the entire page blank.
Does all this make sense?
