Hello,
I've been preparing for the gmat on a off for the last 12 months, this is my official testing:
February - 36Q 23V 500 - Official test
March - 36Q 26V 530 - PowerPrep
April - 34Q 31V 550 - PowerPrep
May - 40Q 36V 610 - Powerprep
June - 35Q 33V 530 - Official Test
August - 41Q 46V 710 - Powerprep (2 weeks before official)
September - 42Q 39V 660 - Powerprep (1 week before official)
September - 41Q 30V 580 - Official Test
I have used the following material:
-
Manhattan Gmat (entire series)
- Official guides
- 1000 SC, 1000 CR, 1000 PS, 1000 DS
Since June, I have been consistently doing 2 hours per day every weekday and 4-6 hours per day on weekends. This consistent schedule has taken a huge toll on my family and my job performance. After taking my last official test, I ended up with 580 (41Q 30V), this is only 30 points improvement from my last test, and even worse a decrease on my verbal score from 33 to 30.
At this point, with first round applications around the corner, I dont know what to do. I was hoping to get at least 680 and apply to a top 10 business school, but obviously 580 will not take me there.
- Is 3 months enough to raise my score substantially and still apply for second rounds?
- I am really confused about the wide range of my verbal score, from 46 to 30 to 33 to 36? Any particular reason for that? At this point it would seem that luck plays an important role in this.
- What is the general consensus about taking the test more than 3 times? I would take it one more time and walk out with whatever I get. [/list]
