Case A.
Let a=7, we don't know the value of b and c, surely CBD.
Case B.
Let b=2 and c=3, then (and a=7) |a−b|>|a−c|
But for b= -2 and c= -3 (and a=7) |a−b|<|a−c|; Insufficient.
Case A+B
We just proved in Case B that it doesn't matter a=7 (i.e. >0) until and unless we know the sign of b and c we can't conclude. So, E

need to conciser the case of opposite signs for b and c. this is not a hard one.
