I think Statement 2 is not sufficient:

Knowing that two sides are equal, the triangle can be isosceles or equilateral. We need statement 1 to give data that the third side is not equal.

Awaiting expert opinion on this.

Is a triangle with angles x, y and z isosceles?

1) Angles x and y are not equal to each other.
2) The lengths of the sides of the triangle opposite angles x and z are equal to each other.


(1) Nothing can be concluded from the statement.

(2) If the sides are equal then it has to be equilateral triangle.

All equilateral triangles are isosceles, therefore 2 alone is sufficient, answer is B.
