Is a two-digit number XY even? (1) LCM of X and Y is even (2) X is ev [#permalink]

Shouldn't it be B?
If X is even, XY has to even regardless of Y being odd or even.

Brijnandini

XY is a two digit number. Its not product of two numbers (X&Y).

XY = 21 (this is odd)
XY = 22 (this number is even)

Note - Even if XY were a product of X & Y, only by knowing that X is even, we cannot conclude that X*Y is even.

Ex. \(2 * \frac{1}{2} = 1\)
