Hi Gmatclub!
As a background, I'm a late 20s Southeast-Asian male, with 5+ work experience in tech currently as head of engineering at a local early-growth stage startup. My post-mba goals are either MBB Consulting or upper management in big-tech, will be coming back to my country, tho. In addition, I have are compelling reasons for needing an acceptance by this fall, so this round 2 and round 3 will probably be my last application for the time being.
I have submitted applications to several B-schools at Round 2 earlier this year, which I can seperate into 2 groups:
- My dream universities as an Engineer, and highly regarded in terms of their MBA program and MBB recruitment
- My dream universities as an Engineer, but lower in terms on rank of their MBA program and MBB recruitment
Now, I have received a few interview invites for the second group, and still waiting for interview invites for the first. I am confident in my chances of admission to the second group, but since they are lower ranked even though they're top notch Univiersity in their own right, I'm having doubt that if I get them instead at target schools, I'd hurt my shot at MBB. On the other hand, the sentiments are generally unfavorable for R3 applications especially for international applicants
I appreciate any insights or advice you can provide. Thank you!
