Hi,
Is there a need for GMAT coaching/prep. I have finished all the QR topics and only RC is left in VA. I have been giving 1 hour to prep regularly for the past 4 months and I have seen improvement. My exam is in 1 and a half month. One mistake I made is that I was not consistent for the past 2 weeks due to my exams. But I am restarting my prep. So, is there a need for coaching and what benefit would I have from taking it
Hi Rishi108,
You may or may not find test prep useful, but it's probably not "necessary". Think about what the industry does. It doesn't create any knowledge; it just repackages and communicates existing knowledge. I'm not saying there's no value to be found here: some people find test prep useful because it helps them with things like efficiency (helps them prep faster or better) and motivation (helps them stay focused).
Effectively, apart from a few practice questions, you won't find anything in a test prep course that you can't find elsewhere on your own. Also, like any other resource, test prep programs may include errors and wrong/bad info.
