Hi Imprenetrable,

I worked on the GMATPrep project and would like to hear more about the issues you've experienced and what features you'd like to see in the software.

For example, when practicing questions, you can review them at the end of the question set irrespective of whether you got them correct, incorrect, or didn't answer them via the Review your responses screen. Simply click the checkbox next to the question and either click 'Review selected' or 'Try selected again'. However, we don't provide a shorcut to them from the Practice section home screen - is this what you would like or would a mechnism to get back to the 'Review your responses' page work just as well?

Progress reports aggregate results from all your practice question sets and I would like to understand why you say that "you always have one question not answered in your progress report".

Thank you

Here is a list of the flaws:

1. Normally, when I want to study verbal questions I select all unanswered verbal question and then go to random and exam mode. This however means that all questions are random - including all reading comprehension questions. This is really annoying, all RC questions for one passage should always come together.

2. Another problem when I chose the random and exam is that when I only want to do 20 questions, I have to answer 20 questions and then click 'finish'. This means that the 21st question is always wrong, this negatively influences the progress report. So, it should be possible to chose option from the normal and from the advanced settings. For example, only 20 questions, random and exam mode.

3. There should be a overview over all available questions, this will make it easier to find questions, even those that one have been correctly anwsered.

4. I think that it should be possible to us the question as a third or maybe even fourth GMATprep test. I dont see why not, it would also attract many new costumers.

Hope this help, Lars.

Thanks Lars, this is a help. We'll add them to our list of features for the next release. In summary:

1 . Group all RC questions using the same passage together, order from easy -> difficult (in sequence) or jumbled up (random)

2. Give users the ability to specify the number of questions in a practice session after they've selected [More options]
One comment: if you aren't worried about question difficulty, you could use the quick start option to select a certain number of each type of question

3. Ability to review responses from all previous practice sessions

4. Not sure what you mean by this last comment but we do permit you to take exams more than one. After completing Exam 1 and/or Exam 2, click the [Reset] button and do the exams again. If this isn't what you meant, please tell me more.

Cheers

I should also say that upgrading your current copy is easy: all you need to do is to download and install the new GMATPrep file over your current application (you do not need to uninstall the old version). You will not lose any information relating to your progress to date and any installed Question Packs will continue to be active.

I ment that there should be a third GMATprep test, which uses the questions from the Question Pack.

Thanks for the clarification and interesting idea. I hope you don't mind me asking you more about it.

One of the things that we do is to keep exam and practice questions separate so that your practice exam score give an indication of how you might perform in the GMAT exam. Allowing practice questions to appear in a practice exam would mean that this would no longer hold true - you may have already seen a question during practice and so be in a better position to answer it 2nd, 3rd etc time round. This will impact your score and therefore be misleading.

Some questions for you to consider:
1. Is it more important for people to practice under exam conditions (even if they have seen the questions before) than to practice answering questions?
2. Do you think having extra practice exams more is useful that having extra practice questions?
