No, there's really no comparison between the two. There's no precise data about how common Verbal scores that high are, but I'd guess only 1 in about 400 test takers get a V48 or higher. Scores that high are extremely rare, regardless of the test taker's first language. The extremely high scores from one particular country have really skewed the Quant percentiles, and a Q48 is much better than it might seem from the current percentile tables, but it's still a score that about 10% of US test takers get.
When discussing scores that high, you should really deduct about 8-10 points from a Q score to find an equally rare V score. To get a V48, you can have at most two wrong answers. To get a Q48, you can get more than a third of your questions wrong, provided those questions are at the harder end of the scale.
In your position, I'd devote much more time to Quant than to Verbal. It's much easier to improve Q scores with study, and it's hard to improve on high Verbal scores (there just aren't any materials on the market aimed at test takers at your Verbal level). You're in an excellent position to score well; it has been my consistent experience that people who have naturally very strong Verbal scores can get outstanding Quant scores too, with the right preparation. You need strong logical and conceptual reasoning ability to do that well in Verbal, and that's all you need to do well in Quant too. It's just a matter of learning how to apply those skills in a new setting. Good luck!
