I have planned to give GMAT in November end. But due to unable circumstances and lack of preparation I am planning to postpone to December 2nd week. What are the chances I can get admissions to top B schools if i get above 700 with 5 years work experience. Is it too late or I should go ahead with whatever preparation and give it November end. Please let me know as soon as possible as I am running out of time. I prefer 1 year full time MBA

Hi,
You should start preparing for your b-school applications along with GMAT Preparation, then you will be able to give good time for comprehensive preparation. Prepare and give GMAT in December second week.
With 5 years of work experience and aiming 700+ score you have fair chances of applying for top 15 US b-schools. It is highly advisable in your case to focus on your application evaluation essays along with GMAT preparation. This is where you can demonstrate your leadership qualities, achievements, professional vision and other abilities. A well presented and perfectly written essay is absolutely critical to make a strong case for yourself during the final interview.

Are you aiming for Indian colleges?
In that case, most of them are through for the year 2013-2014.
But, I think that makes it easier for you to prepare for 2014-2015 batches, the application for whom starts from May '13.
With 6.75 years of experience by March 2014, you can try for IIMA, C, L, I, XLRI, ISB and SPJAIN.
I gave the GMAT, got 690/6.0 and got admission into IIM-C PGPEX 2013-2014.
