Don't go through 1000SC as there are many wrong illogical questions in the document.

So please suggest whether going through 1000SC is a good idea or not. Most of the questions are around 4 years old.

consensus with kissthegmat.

Try to do as much as official material. You have OG 10,11,12 with 2nd edition of verbal supplements

I personally found the 1000 series dirty. The dubious quality of the problems and answers, along with their reputation, convinced me to avoid this source. I used the OG material, LSAT SuperPrep, and Manhattan question banks and online tests. Another fantastic source is GMATClub! It has hundreds of practice problems for verbal. Some of them, of course, come from the 1000 series, but the explanations are much better.

But do whatever is most comfortable for you.

I did go through the 1000SC Series earlier in my prep, but found the whole procedure cumbersome and overwhelming.

Presuming you do not have like 6 months to a year before your GMAT, there is no way that you can finish the material. Moreover the material has questions in a specific order i.e ( 20 Questions related to Although , followed by 30 with usage of 'If' ... and so on ) ... So ideally once you get the concept then you will get all correct in the row. However since you will never be able to finish the material so you will not cover all the concepts.

Regarding the material being illegal or incorrect, I would not agree as most questions have correct OA and the net is full of Explanations of those OA, hence that is not an issue for me.

After wasting a month on 1000SC, I would suggest go over the concepts more thoroughly followed by checking out the Official questions and understand the explanations for not just the right but also the wrong choices. I found that more effective and efficient than going through the 1000SC

Hello All Verbal Veterans ,

I am planning for a 2nd stint at GMAT and have around 4 weeks with me.

So please suggest whether going through 1000SC is a good idea or not. Most of the questions are around 4 years old.

Regards
Gaurav

It is better to stick with the official prep material. OGs and test prep material of leading test prep companies go through multiple levels of editing. Their material is updated regularly and of high quality. You might end up feeling lost if you try 1000 SC.

I wouldn't bother with it because of two reasons:

1. It's illegal and hence bound to have erroneous questions
2. The explanations will probably confuse you more than help you.

What about CR1000? I started to do the questions from cr1000. Did two. Was surprised to see that they are very different from gmat questions, and therefore stopped. :-D Should i continue? Im trying to improve my cr part.

I personally found the 1000 series of not much use. Did around 300 SC questions but didn't find them representative. In fact I felt some of the answers were wrong or not in sync with what the GMAT tests you on. The CR was even worse. As pretty much everyone on this thread has already said please stay away from these.
