Well the longer you wait, the tougher the competition gets. This is mainly because of two reasons
1) A lot more applicants apply in the 2nd & 3rd round, compared to the 1st hence competition is high
2) As you are applying in the 3rd round, almost 50% of the seats would have been already filled up and schools will be more selective while selecting candidates for the remaining 50. Earlier they would have picked you without second thought if they liked your application.
But the silver lining is that your GMAT is strong and you have a good profile, so that should make you an attractive candidate.
