Is Kellogg Receptive to Re-applicants?
Most of the top MBA programs are receptive to re-applicants if a re-applicant makes certain to correct the perceived weakness(es) in their prior application. We have written a long article that discusses 7 Best Practices for Re-applicants, located here:

But what specifically about Kellogg?
Some top business schools are rumored to be less receptive to re-applicants than others. In our experience, Kellogg is very receptive to re-applicants as long as you fix the prior shortcomings of your candidacy or application. We have seen candidates go from rejection with no interview to admission the very next year – from all sorts of backgrounds, including American, African, East Asian and European.
Therefore, if you had a solid overall application but one flat recommendation, you need to reapply with a stellar application – including the essays – and stellar recommendations. If your GPA is solid but you applied with a less-than-ideal GMAT score, say around 620, you should strive to secure a much higher score, ideally in the 700s. If you did not put enough effort into your essays, but otherwise your credentials are competitive, you need to present a new application that shows clearly a great deal of effort in preparation and excellent content.
With Kellogg in particular, the timing of an application can make a notable difference particularly with foreign nationals. Kellogg is a popular school with applicants from East Asia and South Asia. If you were an attractive candidate from these areas and submitted an application in Round 2 rather than Round 1, you may find that you have a much better chance for admission if you submit your re-application in Round 1 next time. In such a case, the timing of your application is one of the factors that needs to be “fixed”.
