My profile is as follows:

10th grade - 88%

12th grade - 93%

Undergraduate % (till now) - 58 % (with 60% being distinction) from the no.1 commerce college in India

Currently have a Semester left in college

Majoring in Finance

Family business: been working here with my father, training under him. Also, been actively involved with the purchase and manfg. dept. of the company ( jewellery manufacturing firm)

GMAT: 710

goals: To get an MBA and streamline and organise the enitre operations of the current company . Corporatisation of the current business,To diversify the family business into more sectors , bridge gaps in the jewellery sector in India as a whole in the process.

Reason to get an MBA so soon: I wont be keen on getting an MBA more than 2 years from my graduation (which is next may), preferring at that point of time to work in the family business , rather than leave it at that point for 2 yrs. So I want the MBA training early on . Need the MBA training for making real contributions to the family business, in my efforts to achieve my goals.

Extra curriculars:
Toastmasters International for 5
Volunteer teacher at a school for the underprivileged for the past five months
Was one of the 50 specially invited from the college,by one of the best tyre manfg. companies in the country, to visit the factory of the same .
Represented the college in national level b-fest.
Actively invloved in extracurriculars in college.

Target Schools: ( any 3-4 )
Reach:
Yale silver scholars
Chicago Early Career
MIT Sloan

Safe schools:
Carnegie Mellon
Darden
Kenan flagler

What are my chances of getting in? Im planning to apply for R2.(maybe even R3 if time is short etc. ). Is my profile lacking anywhere? please help anyone. Also, any suggestions about safe schools would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

It all depends on the rest of your application. If you have a ton of great work experience, great essays, and high GPA then I think your score is definitely good enough.

Hi Guys, I sat for my GMAT yesterday and got a 700. Was following GMAT Club for all last minute tips on the exam and want to thank you all for all the information that I got from this site. Now that it is over, I would want to know if this score is good enough for admission and given this score how strong should my application be.
I am mostly looking to get into the top Indian B Schools namely IIMs and ISB. Please advise. My profile:

Work Ex - 7+ years in IT
GMAT score - 700 (Q47, V40)
GPA - 3.2 ish i guess (82.9%)

Thanks

Hello! I think you should check with your program's admission committee or current students.
