I've been taking manhattangmat practice tests,...i started off with a 580, then significantly improved my verbal and scored a 630. Then i began working heavily on quant and improved slightly, which pushed my score to 660.

I finally took the official GMAC practice test and score 700 (41 verbal, 44 quant). I'm happy about this score,...but i'm weary about what this means. I know the algorithms are different for mgmat vs gmac,...i'm not sure which is harder. Is there a chance this was a pure fluke and i'm actually closer to low 600s?

Great that you are doing well in the GMAT Prep. You would hear certain exceptional cases here and there but overall the GMAT Prep gives you the BEST estimate. If you are lucky, you would get just as much and if not, you would get around 40 less (my case). The MGMAT Tests are great too but statistics say that GMAT Prep is a better judge and it was proved in my case.

Thanks....I'm taking the test next friday,....so not much time to improve.

If you feel your GMAC mock scores are not your true indicator, write another GMAC test. You will get some repeated questions, but it will definitely help you assess your situation.

Keep your mind cool and relax before and even during the test.

It will help you.

I have seen debriefs where scores are equal and sometimes much more than the mock scores.
Difference - Ability to handle pressure and staying cool instead of hitting the panic button.
So, enjoy and take this as it comes.
