Understood. I don't think you need to postpone a year just to improve your extracurricular/volunteer activities. If you decide that delaying your application is the right move, then you should definitely focus on finding the right involvement in addition to whatever work experience you accrue.

You can plan to apply twice - it's not so uncommon. Sometimes it's harder to get admitted as a reapplicant, but you do give yourself two "shots on goal." Tacking on a year of work experience would definitely represent a considerable change to your profile, so the admissions committee might look at you differently should you not get in the first time. You could also retake the GMAT if your score is just so-so this time around.

If interesting to you, please reach out to us to learn more about the Advanced Planning Program. It's a great way to get some pre-application coaching (including building an Action Plan) from an experienced consultant on our team.

Thank you so much. Things are a lot clearer now. I will definitely check out the Planning Program!

I'm a third year(now almost a 4th year) BE Mechanical Engineering student with a 9.14/10 Gpa. I'm actively studying for GMAT hoping to get about 690-710. But I haven't got any internships under my belt. I'm planning to do 2 internships in my final year, halfway through which(to meet the round 2 deadline) I'll be applying to Bschools. Will my profile be enough to get through the first few stages in Schools like HEC Paris or LBS for their MiM program for 2023? Or should I wait and work for a year to get more experience in my profile? I don't really wanna work for a year but if my profile isn't enough, I am willing to go through it! Thanks.

Hello mihirballal,

You have a solid GPA and if you can get a GMAT score upwards of 710 alongside a couple of meaningful internships, we do not think you need to wait it out. MiM doesn't require work experience as such and the internships will be able to stand for your performance in the professional context.

Thanks.

All the best!
