I wanted to take it the beginning of September, but the only times that were available on a Saturday were 8am until Oct 2 when they had a 12pm available, so I signed up for that one. Will it hurt my ability to start putting applications together if I still have the GMAT to worry about for one more month? I'm taking a Knewton course now and know I'll be ready by September (this is my 2nd time taking it), so I'm worried the extra time might actually hurt me since I will have to keep this information fresh in my brain for longer, but on the other hand I know my mind does not function as well at 8am and I definately don't want to feel rushed or stressed in the morning having to leave the house by 7.
Any opinions on timing when to take the test? I will be applying to 2 schools in R1 anf the rest in R2, is this very difficult while simultaneously studying for the GMAT? Thanks!

The GMAC advises 20 business days for score release. It is typically much faster than this.
You should contact your target schools and ask about the latest potential date to take the test.

I was thinking more along the lines of I would forget the material or be too focused on GMAT to have time to worry about applications...but are you saying that I might not even get the scores back in time to make R1 deadlines? I always thought you could submit applications with your self-reported unofficial score and wait for the real one to get to them. Is this not true?
