Is p positive?

(1) The square of p is positive
(2) |p| - p is positive

Hi! could someone help me out, I'm struggling with this question because my professor said it is answer E but i believe it could be answer B

(1)\( P^2>0\) either p is negative or positive. Insufficient.

(2) lPl - P>0
lPl>p This is possible only p is negative.
Answer B.

1) p can be positive or negative both.
so INSUFFICIENT

2)mod p > p
thus is possible only when p is negative.

thus p<0

ans B
