It cannot be a rhombus because all sides are not same, however, your reasoning is perfect. See highlighted text.

Imo E

From 1 we can determine that it is either a parallelogram or rectangle. So it is insufficient.
From 2 we know that it is either parallelogram or a rectangle. So again it is insufficient.

We need the angle to determine if it is rectangle.
