The question will be answered with a Yes if r is more than 0.52 and with a No if r is equal to /less than 0.52.
From statement I alone, r is greater than ½.
Substituting 0.5 for ½, we see that r is greater than 0.5. However, this is not sufficient to determine if r is greater than 0.52. r could be equal to 0.52 as well and it will still be more than 0.5
Statement I alone is insufficient. Answer options A and D can be eliminated.
From statement II alone, r is equal to \(\frac{5}{8}\).
Substituting 0.625 for \(\frac{5}{8}\), r = 0.625.
Since 0.625 is greater than 0.52, r > 0.52.
Statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question with a YES. Answer options C and E can be eliminated.
The correct answer option is B.
