Is rectangular block B a cube?
(1) At least two faces of rectangular block B are square.

You can easily imagine two opposite faces of a long block of wood being square, but that block need not be a cube, so Statement 1 is not sufficient. Knowing the volume is irrelevant, since we can have a volume of 64 with any kind of shape whatsoever, so Statement 2 is useless, and the answer is E.

Solution:
Pre Analysis:
- We are asked if rectangular block B is a cube or not
- If the dimensions of the rectangular block are l, b, and h then for it to be a cube they have to be equal
- Thus, we are basically asked if \(l=b=h\) or not
- This is a YES-NO question
Statement 1: At least two faces of rectangular block B are square
- This is possible when \(l=b≠h\) and also when \(l=b=h\)
- There can be other cases as well but any two contradicting cases are enough to prove insufficiency
- Thus, statement 1 alone is not sufficient and we can eliminate options A and D
Statement 2: The volume of rectangular block B is 64
- According to this statement, \(l\times b\times h=64\)
- This is possible when \(l=b=h=4\) and also when \(l=b=2\) and \(h=16\)
- There can be other cases as well but any two contradicting cases are enough to prove insufficiency
- Thus, statement 2 alone is also not sufficient
Combining:
- The cases we took in the second statement are valid even after combining both the statements
- i.e., \(l=b=h=4\) and \(l=b=2\) and \(h=16\)
- Thus, even after combining, it is not sufficient
Hence the right answer is Option E
