1 stm: We cant conclude that the average is negative only because most of the members are negative. Even if one member is positive and is more than the sum of the rest 6 negative members, the mean will be positive. Insuff.
2 stm: clearly says that the sum is negative so is we divide negative number by 7 (number of members) we will definitely get negative number. Suff.

Consder 1)
Not sufficient. This choice does not gaurantee that the sum will also negative due to the fact that the rest of the 3 numbers can be huge positive numbers.

Consider 2)
Sufficient. If sum is negative so will be the average.
