What is the value of [#permalink] ### Show Tags 22 May 2017, 03:51 π = 3.1416.... So π-1 = 2.1416... We have to find [π-1] = [2.1416...] So what is the greatest integer which is less than or equal to 2.1416....? There is no integer which is equal to 2.1416... (since this is not an integer) And now out of all integers less than 2.1416... (which are 2, 1, 0, -1, -2, ... in descending order)- the Greatest is 2.
