Is the knowledge of calculus helpful in solving very difficult Q's on GMAT?
I came across a quote on GMATCLUB stating...."Several good questions on inequalities, and quadratics were just killed using graphs and or calculus, and I'm sure without that knowledge or skill the questions would take longer"
Kindly Clarify!!
It is true that wider the scope of your knowledge, faster you may be able to solve some questions on GMAT (such as differentiation for some max-min questions etc) but GMAT questions are made such that they can be solved within 2 mins if you understand your basic concepts well. So you are certainly at no disadvantage if you do not know advanced concepts such as calculus.
