I tried another approach but I'm not sure it's a valid one:

1) Gives information only about x<something --> not sufficient
2) Gives information only about x>something --> not sufficient

1+2) Here we know that something<x<something so it's not important to know precisely if x value is between 0.2 and 0.7, we have enough information to answer in both cases.
So my answer is C.
