Is there a way to complete an MBA course by course at your own speed?
Part-time and distance-learning MBA courses usually allow some flexibility in how long a student takes to complete the MBA. Obviously, no course will allow total flexibility: there will be some limits on how slowly you can go and how much time you can spend on the course.
A course done in this manner -- ie at your own speed -- will still teach you a lot that you can apply in your career. But it will not give you all the advantages that a full-time regular program would.
I completely agree with
vv65. There are pluses and minuses to a part-time program, and you should make sure you understand as well as you can what you are signing up for beforehand, whether you pursue a full-time or part-time MBA. All the stats you might be familiar with on average starting salary, bonuses, job placement, and so on will almost assuredly refer to full-time programs. There is a bit of a stigma in the U.S. surrounding part-time programs, as though they exist to get people in and out into the job market as soon as possible, people who might not make the grade at full-time programs and seem destined for lower-paying jobs and careers. (There are exceptions, of course.) If I were thinking of going the part-time route, I would talk to admissions experts, to people associated with each program, and, if possible, to graduates of such programs to make an informed decision.
Good luck, whatever you decide.
