Is there a way to improve verbal score? My verbal is kind of stuck at 29. I want to improve it to at least 39. How should I study? Any recommendations? I find reading comprehension the hardest to improve.
I am not trying to be a downer... bit RC will be the hardest to improve; you develop reading comprehension skills over the course of your lifetime. If you are a non native speaker it can be especially hard to make significant improvement in this area in a short time. Many people worry about there vocabulary being top notch; I find it can be helpful but not necessary... many of the twenty dollar words you run into in an RC passage you can ignore anyway. My advice is to stay focused and don't let technical language throw you off.
My next piece of advice would be to really stay mentally focused. If you are a native speaker and you are doing really poorly in RC it is probably because of a lack of focus. Something like 3/4 of all RC questions can be answered directly from the text; the other 1/4 are basically inferences (like CR). so spend your time carefully reading and absorbing every word (dont skim!!!) and work on focus and RC should improve.
FInally, practice reading stuff that is dense and of no interest to you.
sciencedaily.com is probably a good start. don't let your eyes glaze over, and stay focused! i can't stress this enough... if you are a native speaker and you are doing poorly in RC it is because of focus
